Battery discharge during extended transit or storage of vehicles can lead to deterioration of the battery and subsequent warranty claims. BLP now offer a simple and cost-effective solution - the Powermotive(tm) isolating device. Powermotive totally isolates the battery from the vehicle's electrical circuits, protecting it from quiescent electrical drain to ensure it remains in peak condition. Essentially a relay-operated switch, Powermotive automatically reconnects the battery when the ignition is turned on, allowing the vehicle to be driven when required. An automatic time delay allows the electrical system to be shut down and reconnected in a particular sequence to protect sensitive circuits from any surge pulse.
Powermotive is available in a range of specifications, and the core product is customised to suit the electrical system of individual models. When used as a transit isolator the device is normally removed by the dealer and returned to BLP for recycling - a cost effective and environmentally friendly approach. An alternative version for permanent installation is under development.
BLP is an ISO 9001 manufacturing company and is currently working towards ISO 14000 approval. Powermotive has been developed from the company's core technology base in relays and solenoids
